KOLKATA: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee phoned Bengal BJP President and MP Dilip Ghosh and urged him to attend an all-party meeting.

She called an all-party meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Covid-19 situation in West Bengal. She rang up Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh and urged him to attend the meeting.

“The CM called me over telephone. I am attending the all-party meeting.. we believe in  development of Bengal and constructive politics,” Ghosh said, days after Banerjee skipped the PM’s all-party video-conference on Covid surveillance across the country.

BJP apart, the state government invited all other parties to the meeting.

“Political parties having representation in the West Bengal assembly have been invited to the meeting. Speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay has consented to attend the meeting to be presided over by the CM,” said home secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay.
