KOLKATA: BJP President Dilip Ghosh said that Bengal has become " Covid hub" with one lakh people being put in quarantine in a day.
"A state bureaucrat, Officer -in- Charge of police station, BSF man guarding central team tested positive. This proves that many are affected. But not many Bengal residents are being tested. As a result, we do not know exact scenario," Ghosh added saying bodies were not cremated maintaining WHO guidelines.
"Media can't visit the temporary crematorium Dhapa where bodies were cremated. Central team was even not allowed to visit the place. One central team is coming again here," he said adding two more districts were marked by the Centre as Red Zone.
The BJP MP also alleged the state government filed an FIR against him for telling the truth about coronavirus crisis on his social media platforms.
"Even district BJP Presidents are not allowed to meet the district SPs to submit memoranda on ground situation. They are being picked up on way to the SP office," Ghosh said.
A couple of days ago, Ghosh also alleged that chief minister Mamata Banerjee has turned the state secretariat into a party office of the Trinamool Congress, slamming her for indulging in politics amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
State BJP president said health services have completely collapsed in West Bengal and Banerjee has proved to be an inefficient administrator.
"The chief minister has chosen Nabanna (state secretariat) to launch attacks on the BJP and turned it into a TMC party office," Ghosh told reporters.
